After a few days get stuff together in Perth we headed out of the city on Sunday towards Shark Bay. It didn't take long for the roads to get very straight and the number of cars to diminish considerably.
We headed for Kalbarri National Park as our first stop hoping to see the Z Bend and the Loop Gouges - sadly the road was definitely "4WD only" so we headed for the Natural Bridge on the coast and yet more dramatic views of the coast. We're both already starting to feel like we're in the outback - kangaroo sightings galore and we saw our first wild emu. Stopped at fantastic roadhouse where we spent our first night camping under the stars - "caveman"Jon got to work on his first fire whilst Jules cooked meat on the barbie.
