Today Kathleen, Ally, Layne and I had our weekly "ladies lunch" to celebrate Layne's birthday at The Modern restaurant in the MOMA. This restaurant was fantastic, although quite expensive! Entrees for lunch ranged from $28-40. I had the prix fixe which I think was $42. I chose the skate with tomato broth and clam fricassee and then the stuffed crispy chicken breast with roasted mushrooms. For desert, the cheesecake almond crumble was great. The dining room overlooks the sculpture garden, which is a little anti climatic but nice. They forgot to bring out a candle in Layne's desert to the manager came over and gave us a card to arrange for us to come back and have a bottle of champagne and desert at the bar on the house! It was very nice!
