We walked up hill and down dale, checking out the shops and sights, particularly liking the shops along Union. After finding Nick's we had our lunch there which included the best gaucamole I've ever had, then continued on basically without a plan other than to be home by mid-afternoon to kit up for the cold on the ferry trip to Alcatraz. We checked out the Cable Car Museum, yes those cable cars actually run on CABLES!! I found it fascinating. Just walking around San Fran is delightful, the architecture, the hills....it's gorgeous
Unexpected time on our hands, having missed the ferry. Clam chowder served in a sourdough bowl on Pier 31. Continue our meander towards home, shopping, exploring, laughing at imaginative buskers dressed as shrubbery.
But wait! Is that blues we hear? Indeed, it is! Shall we go in? Oh, let's! Cadillac Margarita's, Brave Bull's, dancing, bar closes, barkeep says go to the end of this block and turn left, I'll meet y'all there at Parlour's!!, play pool, drink more, stagger home, lose Viv (she was in bed) sleep on couch in lounge next to lobby until light, Viv's credit card lost; credit card found in restroom & handed in. Jarod next time I curse myself ("Oh I don't get drunk") don't tell me.
We can't load pics yet cos the puters only take usb. We love San Fran. Never drinking alcohol again. Over n out.
