There's a shark in the water!
Entry 9 of 25 | show all | print this entry |
No there is not really a shark in the water but it's easy to say in an Australian accent. So how weird is this.....we saw the Sydney Opera House today. So it REALLY hit us that our mammys are all the way over on the other side of the world, it was very weird. So lemme see........ Cairns: We didn't find much to do but go diving in the great barrier reef, it was amazing. Jen couldn't because of her "teeth" but I got to see a turtle and loads of coral and a sting ray and a flamenco dancer fish......it was a very cool experience once you got used to the salty water and let your ears pop. Then we got a LONG bus journey to Airley Beach. We loved it here. Gorgeous apartment, cute little town, lovely beaches and a fabulous lagoon right in the middle of the town. We could have stayed here a bit longer but didn't have the time. One of the days there we went to the Whitsunday Islands, it was so nice. We only made it to two of them cos we had another bus to catch. We were on Daydream and Hamilton. We played a great game of crazy golf, played in the pool and then lay by the pool and got very burnt. To top it off we then missed our ferry back to mainland and almost missed our beach! But don't panic we made it just on time for our delightful 13 hour coach journey to Noosa. Luckily the day before Jen was reading about Maryborough where there is a stature of Mary Poppins so we HAD to stop over there. So at 7.30 in the morning Jen and I lug our 20+kg suitcases around this funny little town up and down and across all the wrong roads and just as she was about to give up we see her little duck head brolly sticking out on the corner of Cherry Tree Lane and she was very cool so it was worth all that hassle and funny looks from the locals. Then we barely found the train station but again luckily just in time. Then we went to Noosa. Oky Doky I'm gonna let Jen finish it from here, hope your all well, lots of love and kisses, Niamhy & Jen, x x x
