We continued the "Golden Pass" train ride to Montreaux, on the "Swiss Riviera" on Lake Geneva/ Lac Leman. We visited Chateau de Chillion, a 12th- 13th Century castle built on a rock overlooking the lake. It was very cool - great views and they had most of the rooms furnished as they would have been when the castle was in use. We climbed up many wooden stairs into the 12th century keep to look out the windows.

Then we took a boat to Lausanne which passed by a lot of interesting-looking towns and vineyards. Unfortunately for us, our hotel was very up-hill from the boat dock! But it was a nice way to arrive in town. We had supper at a falafal / kebab place and took a walk around the old part of the town.
