For our first night on the coast we stayed in a campsite called El Capitan State Beach just outside Santa Barbara.  The 3 of us got drunk as skunks that night, we were so loud and did outrageous things that night that should never be repeated.  So it was no wonder that the next morning, with hangovers from hell, we asked to stay another night and they refused us!!!  So feeling like death we had to pack up and get into the car.  After alot of messing around we finally managed to book ourselves into another campsite for 2 nights in a place called Morro Bay.

What a bloody dump!!  When we arrived at the campsite we found out it was next to a sewage works and a power station - nice!  The actual campsite wasn't much better, we had to pitch our tent on gravel and Dale struggled to get the pegs in the ground, it was so solid.

Unfortunately the weather in Morro Bay was truly miserable.  It was cold and the fog meant you couldn't see a metre in front of you.  We did go to the beach, Heather even lay in her bikini for about 30 minutes, but after hypothermia started to set in and the rain started, we figured we should give up!!

I think it is fair to say that Morro Bay was not a highlight of the trip!
