In the morning we packed up and went into the Grand Canyon park and had breakfast on the rim of the Canyon
. It was so cool and the canyon views were amazing. Although, there were around a million other people there at the same time which does spoil it a bit.
I think to truly experience the Canyon you have to go hiking into it or raft down the river so it is now on the list of things to do before you die - raft down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon - totally awesome!
We left the Canyon and started making our way towards the coast. The drive is soo long so we stayed in a motel in some random place on the road and made it to the coast the next day.
After the longest drive ever, we finally arrived at the Grand Canyon about 5pm with nowhere to stay. All the campsites in the park were full so we had to go outside the park and find somewhere. We initially went into this one campsite, paid our money and then went to find a site. All 3 of us were like "Get us out of here" so we managed to get a refund and got out of there asap. We found another foresty commision campsite and pitched up. This was our first night in the tent and we were totally unprepared. We had no cooking facitilites, food, bug spray etc. But we managed to get the tent up and went to the shop for a picnic ( a cold picnic) for dinner. We ended up having such a fun night and had our first campfire and sing a long, I think Dales ears were ringing after listening to Heather and I sing our wee hearts out all night!
