It was during our stay in Townsville we popped over to `maggie` as the
locals call her for a few days r & r, because we obviously needed a
break! We ditched priscilla and enjoyed luxury accommodation at the yha
bungalow bay. Sleeping in a proper bed in a room with a roof really is
exciting. They have their own wildlife sanctuary onsite which makes for
interesting noises in the night. We took it in turns to take on
nightwatch duties sleeping with one eye open incase our door was broken down by
a 12 ft, man eating, hairy, fanged, scaley, winged, boggle eyed
crocodevilmonster only to discover the russtling in the bushes were just some
cheeky little pink nosed fluffy possums baby croc
baby croc
. So we visited the sanctuary and
partook in the obgligatory photo opportunity to cuddle a koala. We held
lizards, patted cockatoos, tried to avoid large hairy spiders and stroked
snakes (well I did whilst chris tried not to shit himself next to me).
All very nice and accompanied by a quick rootle round the island in a
little 4x4, an evening watching sunset from the western point, a day on
the beach where we swam in waters warmer than any bath I have ever had
and slurped the best mango smoothies yet. Ahh yes its the island life
for us. We returned to our townsville campsite all refreshed and
revitalised to have a bbq with our new best friends kirsty, nick, tim & andrew
who had all just about dried out from our time in airlie. Throw another
shrimp on the barbie will ya mate.

Respecccc to the swan, Aye!
Hello my dears, good to see the adventures unfolding as you leisurely amble your way up and down the East coast (not jealous at all you bastards!). Whitehaven Beach is rather stunning isnt it. Easily the whitest beach i have set foot on.

Hope you liked Magnetic, I think its lovely. Balding Bay quite amusing for a slaphead like me! The whitsunday swan picture was awesome! Nash loved it too! The legend of the swan is well and truly global! Kapppppoooowwww!

Have a good un my fellow June 13th birthday boy. 28? I dont want to talk about being 33 although it should be quite amusing to my irish mates on October 13th when I'm tirty tree and a turd!

We stayed in plush swankyness in Port Douglas so there! PS: In truth I'd give all luxuries up to be doing the backpacker thing! Enjoy and I await the nxt adventure

PPS: Jen, you're looking like Kate Moss. Get a few Mrs Macs or Four and Twentys down your Gregory!
