On to The Riviera

We left Florence at about 9 AM and arrived at Pisa about 2 hours later. We really didn't spend a lot of time there (only about an hour). I took a picture of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and that's about it. Then we took a long, scenic drive up to Nice on the coach. It was so beautiful, Southern France, that is. The little cottages, the mountains, it all looked like a postcard!
Then we arrived at Nice. It was the most beautiful place ever!!! Palm trees, turquoise beaches, luxurious apartments and hotels, little boutiques. I so want to live there! We went to the hotel right after. Jessica and I were so scared it'll turn out to be a shitty one. But the streets that we were on were still luxurious-looking. Then we saw Hotel Busby. It was nice in the outside: light peachy-pink walls with white french windows. It was actually nice! We got off of the bus, and then to our horror, we went back on the bus because they said the hotel was full. We all thought we jinxed it. But then Ms. DiChiara said that whenever that happens, they upgrade us to a better hotel. Then, we saw our new hotel: Hotel Atlantic. It was soo nice! The building looked antique, french windows, balcony, everything! The lobby was so elegant. Stained glass windows, 18th or 19th century furnishings, winding staircase! Then, we went into our room. It was so beautiful! High ceilings, gold-painted, flower basket etchings on the wall, gold patterned wallpaper, french doors that opened up to two balconies, heavy golden yellow curtains, a vanity, two love seats, an antique armoire, a french door that separates our bedroom from the main door, and a chandelier. I still couldn't believe we got such a beautiful hotel.
Then we went to Jess, Cindy, and Jenny's room. Theirs was a suite. Double doors, two desks, little paintings on the ceiling, four beds, a balcony, and a fireplace! The thing that really pissed me off was that Jessica was gonna trade rooms before we even saw them, and I didn't! "Moron" was written all over my forehead. And, oh yeah, at least our toilet had its own separate room. I was even taking pictures of everything, and then this guy from our tour, whom I thought was cute...I just noticed him in Florence) was smiling 'cause we were taking pictures of the lobby. His name's Chris, and he kinda had a Chris O'Donnell look to him, only more retro-grunge. He wore these cute, little, square yellow glasses, and an olive green bag. Too bad he smoked a lot and had a nose ring.
Anyway, enough about him. After we checked in, we walked in the rain to Cafe George where we had dinner. It was a cozy, little cafe, and the dinner was good. I asked for butter in French, and the waiter actually understood me! After dinner, we went back to the hotel, and Mr. Aviles proposed a walking tour. Robin didn't go 'cause she said she was tired. It was raining out, but I figured we were only going to be there for one day so I went along with Kathy and Cindy. We walked past boutiques (expensive ones, no doubt), and we walked to the shore. The beach at night was kinda scary. I kept imagining somebody committing suicide there, but it was still beautiful. We were collecting stones when this huge wave came and soaked our feet. It was fun!! Then we came across this cafe (Tunisian style), and Mr. Aviles treated us all to cafe creme and this crunchy, twisting brown thing coated with sesame glaze. It was good. Then we went back to the hotel, and I took a bath/shower and slept.
Where I stayed:
