Well, here I am sitting at my desk while Jeff is up north somewhere in his lorry. Can't believe that this time next week we will be on our way to Heath Row, setting off on our big adventure.
At the moment we are both suffering from an acute attack of aprehension. Such a big thing we are about to do. We are both quite well travelled (especially Jeff from his time in the Merchant Navy) but this is something different. Just the names of the places we will be visiting conjure up such fantastic pictures - Singapore (not to mention Raffles Hotel!), Adelaide (can't wait to meet a Koala)(and of course see Sallie, Graeme and Tam), Sydney (Yes, we are going to climb that bridge), Uluru (need to find an Aboriginal native to teach Jeff to play that Didgeridoo), then up to Cairns for that drive of a lifetime down the Queensland coast, stopping wherever the fancy takes us (including a helicopter trip - if we're lucky). After all that a trip to Moreton Island to feed the wild dolphins (what a priviledge). Then home via Bangkok (to pick up all the stocking fillers for Christmas back home!).
Seems to me, after all that, we will need a holiday.
I am not sure whether we are wrinklies or crumblies, but we are both young at heart and will make the most of this trip.
