Costa del Kuta

So, now in Kuta. Talk about Magaluf or Costa del sol!!! This is one place that has been ruined by tourism!

My flight from Singapore was delayed. We boarded the plane on time, at which point, whilst settling in and checking out the inflight movies, the crew decided to make sure the aircraft was flight worthy and check the lights etc. Why wasn't this done prior to us boarding???? Anyway, one of the bulbs on the wing wasn't working and we were told that it had to be changed. This, we were told, would take half and hour. 3 hours later and we had alighted from the plane and i was consuming pre-flight beers with the guy i was sat next to and 2 of his mates. The lad i was seated next to was a guy from Bristol called Jason. Upon arrival in Bali, Jason and i had formed a friendship and decided to share a room in order to cut costs.

We shared a reasonable room but the town of Kuta consisted of bars and restaurants crowded shabbily together along with the compulsory McDonalds and other fast food places. I only stayed here for 3 days and to be honest, it was 3 days too much. The group was cool but i really had to get out and so booked my scuba diving course which will basically take me on a tour of the island over the next 5 days. Quite cool as i have my own driver for the duration of the course!
