We noticed that Walla Walla was a convenient stop between Springfield Oregon and Interstate 90, our proposed route to Wisconsin. Walla Walla was also a very convenient place to spend our last night in Washington State in the Marcus Whitman Hotel, no less, and eat a wonderful dinner at the Creek Town Café. We decided that it would be a good idea to purchase some going away gifts from our favorite winery, Rulo, as well.

En route to Walla Walla from Springfield we stumbled on the John Day Fossil Beds. Jeff, being a geologist, had to stop. What we found was truly amazing. The Bureau of Land Management has just opened an extremely beautiful museum dedicated to the fossils found near John Day, Oregon and the history of evolution that they record.

Hotel: Marcus Whitman--we recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Walla Walla.
Dinner: We eat at the Creek Town Cafe--also recommended by us.
Wine: ? We'll need to look it up when we are reunited with our label collection
Winery: We recommend Rulo Winery--you'll need to call ahead.
