Today we trekked all around Dalat. We started by finding our way to the Bao Dai Summer Palace. It took us about 45 minutes to walk there from our hotel and most of it was uphill. The Summer Palace was, as you can guess, the summer home for the king before the war. It was built in the mid-1900s and was quite modern. It seemed more like a mansion rather than a palace and was a bit underwhelming. It was quite entertaining to see the kitchy tourist attractions inside the grounds, though.

After the palace, we walked back down the hill and came across the Crazy House. This house was built (and is still being built) by an Vietnamese architect who studied in Moscow. The style of the house reminded us of the Gaudi buildings in Barcelona. The house is still occupied by its 72 year old owner and is also a hotel. The rooms were a bit creepy, especially the ones with the animals with glowing eyes!

We then walked back to the main park of town and had some Pho for lunch and then later in the afternoon walked around the lake again. It's quite a lovely walk.
