The aeroflot bar and the bier garten brawl

I misread the train time table to krakow and as a result I have to wait a few hours before catching the next intercitz to Krakow, poland. Czech timetables are totallz unintelligible with various symbols and colors meaning different things. At my tour books suggestion Ive taken to using the online czech railwaz website to figure things out since it is in english.
Anyway, I went to dinner at a great authentic czech restaurant in downtown olomouc called haneaka. Sounds hawaiian, yes, but it was reallz good stuff. 5 bucks apiece got us the biggest meal and drinks Ive had since being here. We by the way was me and a long term traveller named anthony from nova scotia. Anthony moved to dublin after college and became a waiter for a year and is now spening the summer travelling before moving to Vancouver. No job lined up, doesn§t know anyone there...just wants to live in vancouver so hes moving there. Thats certainly not how I do things but you cant help but admire that attitude at a certain level.
After dinner we headed back to the hostel to meet up with a pair of pre=school teachers from san louis obisbo. Honestly, Im doing a horrible job meeting locals and talking to them as the language barrier is a brick wall here but Im doing a great job meeting americans. We went to a bar in an old soviet aeroflot plane a few blocks north of citz center. The plane is sitting in a little park. You walk up the boarding stairs and there you are. The bar is in the back of the plane, the chairs are where passenger plane chairs normally are, and theres a DJ in the cockpit facing toward the rear of the plane. Pretty fun setup really. After that we went to the student bier garten. hundreds of college kids beating the crap out of each other. Im serious. No more than 5 minutes after we arrived a massive fight between a few students broke out. Then it stopped, and then all of a suddent flamed back up again, but this time very violent. Glass breaking everywhere, knees to faces, some ugly stuff. We backed out of there to the fringe of the bier garten and watched in awe as a stream of beat up and bloody kids started walking out of there. No cops ever showed up and the waitresses kept walking around serving drinks like it wasnt even happening. That fight eventually stopped but random guys would get offended at one anothers stares and spontaneously attack one another. Very disturbing really. Fortunately I know how to flash the blood gang sign which seemed to keep us out of trouble. Ok that last part didn§t happen but everything else did.
So now its off to krakow. the preschool teachers are heading to prague and then cezky krumlov. We are tentatively planning on meeting up there but I think I will have passed through by the time they arrive.
