Dinner was nice. Ate with an embassy family, Michael St. Clair´s family. Michael was the chef and they didn´t have any servants which is also out of the norm for an embassy family... They lived in an Austrian Mansion built maybe 50 years ago. Probably the most ¨homey¨, welcoming, beautiful house I have ever seen. They had a beautiful fireplace - conversation area with a library around the short corner (away from the fire) and the wood floor was also just phenomenal. I could go on. The dinner was great and very typical of Thanksgiving back in the state (a very good thing); however after dessert his wife, originally from Switzerland, remembered that the stuffing! was left in the microwave; by far the funniest thing on the night even though there were other embassy workers, one in particular, an older gentlemen who carried on with story after story. I gained much, a great deal, of insight into the Foreign Service.
It was very nice and felt like the best place to spend a Thanksgiving away from home...
