After seven days of exploring the southern half of Ecuador, I will shortly be embarking on a 22 hour busride, northeast, back to my jungle house. I am leaving Cuenca after four tranquil days where I have been able to step-back from the busyness at my job in in Mondaņa; I sat on park benches, walked along the rivers, enjoyed a cigar overlooking the warm view of the spruce trees on the surrounding foothills, went to fine restaurants, ate great ice cream, and get to know this pleasant town. I have enjoyed the time to think, clearly, something not as easy to come by living with 70 students and all that is going on across the Napo River.
