(This is an entry taken from my journal entry originally written 9/11 to fill you in on the gap of time that I have been in the jungle.)
Walking back to Mondaņa-Yachana on the same old beaten path, brought on a science experiment with big red ants. As this army, stretching as many ant-miles as the eye could see, was densely marching swiftly 4-5 in a row, I jealously put my foot in all the action right.
To no surprise, a build-up of ants mounted at my foot and for about 20 seconds I enjoyed watching the confusion of ants going in circles, some reversing to the on-coming traffic.
Mostly however, the pile kept getting larger as the troops ahead kept on going. As I was about to let my foot up and let them be, I noticed something familiar... a couple dozen ants frontiered around my foot and continued on the exact same old beaten path as the other thousands were hedging ahead, ant-miles away...
This made me smile knowing that perhaps some ants also have there same beaten paths but probably not the need to do stupid things like this to change the routine up every once in a while.
