Yesterday we, yes about 2000 people and myself, danced through the streets of Cayambe. I still don{t really understand exactly their religious reasoning behind it all (they say it is for San Pedro) but other reasons may consist of getting really drunk, gaining some needed attention to yourself from the thousands of spectators, and dressing up in the customary outfits and celebrating their heritage.

It was just another unique experience here in the first months in the Peace Corps.
