Modena - May 28
Today, I woke up after a great nights sleep and headed off for Modena, which is about a 30 minute train ride north from Bologna and known world wide for excellent balsamic vinegar. When the train was cruising into Modena, I noticed a cool trident sign in the middle of a large manufacturing plant. It turns out that what I was looking at was the luxury Italian car plant for the famous Maserati! After arriving at the train station, I starting my sight seeing by cruising through the nice Parco Novi Sad. After, I headed for the center of town where I stopped at the tourist office for a map and some information. I wanted to tour the Ferrari plant, but found out the plant was about 20 minutes away and a little difficult to get too without a car, so I stopped at a small restaurant for some more excellent Italian pasta. After a great meal, I purchased some of the excellent balsamic vinegar as a gift for my mom. The vinegar had been aged in a barrel for 20 years and was excellent! The shop had other bottles that were behind a glass case that were aged for over 50 years and ranged in price from 100-350 Euro! I then headed to the train station to finish the day in Parma, about 30 minutes north from Modena.
