This week was mid-term break, so I thought I should get away from London for a few days- so off to sunny Spain I went. After another early flight, I arrived in Madrid and caught the metro to the hostel. After changing into summer clothes, armed with my guide book, I headed out to see the sights.
The first sight I came across was Plaza Mayor. Here there was the tourist info centre and from there I bought a bus ticket for the hop-on, hop-off bus. Spent most of the afternoon sitting on the top of the double-decker bus going around Madrid in circles (making the most of my unlimited day ticket). The bus trip was a great way to orientate myself around the city and a chance to work on my tan!
