Dianna came over Tuesday night as we needed to be at the airport by 4:15. We drove her car to her sister's and had a taxi meet us there at 4 am. It took just under an hour to clear customs. Upon arriving at the terminal gate I realized I had left all my credit cards and driver's license on the scanner at home. (the night before I had decided to scan them and leave a copy with Loretta) now. You get the stupid part. I had no clue as to what to do. At the counter, I asked about having them delivered to the front and I would get them. Nope, can't go back through the custom gate. But an agent could bring it through if she got them in time.
I phoned Laura at 5:15 am, she went to my place and drove them out in about 15 minutes. She double parked and ran them to the agent, who delivered them to me with 10 minutes to spare. Now that is a friend
Three hours later, I arrived in Santa Barbara with my luggage.
The airport in LA is a hoot. For such a big city one would expect a classy airport. Nope. We had to transfer planes, we caught a bus that criss-crossed the runways as it took us to the terminal we needed to be at.
Our car was upgraded, but we turned it down as the trunk would only hold one suitcase..the Chevy Cruz. It held all our luggage. The drive north was easy. However, we wondered when we would see the ocean. We did and our room overlooks the ocean. As I sit here typing, we have the door open and can hear waves crashing. Sorry no picture, can't seem to figure it on the iPad.
Dinner was a feed of Mexican. Since we were up at 3 am, I am ready for bed.
