As Liz's last trip in Europe before returning to SF, we went to the Cote d'Azur. I was also trying to avoid the winter, which seems to be arriving too early in STK.
I have to say, I was disappointed at first. Nice was a large city on the coast, with numerous ugly buildings, making the coastline look ugly and over-crowded. It reminded me of an ugly American beach town.
From Nice, we drove towards Cannes, driving through towns like Antibes. Again, all the towns had cute old towns, but the coast was still full of these highrise condos that looked like they were built in the 60s/70s.
