My parents are in town and luckily the July weather has held out. Summer weather has proved very schizophrenic here in Northern Europe, where it is rainy & cool one day and then sunny and warm the next (or perhaps within the same day). Today I took them to one of the further archipeligo islands, Finnhamn. It was 2-2.5 hours by ferry and they got to see a lot of the archipeligo, which is really gorgeous. Most of the islands are very rocky, but with plenty of trees and bushes. The water is also a beautiful blue color - not turquoise like when there is a white sand bottom, but a very true blue color.
Finnhamn is a more quiet island than Waxholm or Sandhamn, which have more restaurants, hotels, stores, etc. It basically has one cafe and a general store. But we found lots of wild strawberries and blue berries.
