With map and guidebook in hand, we then headed out into the Rome traffic - a skill yet to be mastered. With traffic that ignores zebra crossings and a severe shortage of traffic lights, crossings roads was a definite hazard. Pooling with the locals or tour groups was one strategy that worked.
We ticked a few must-see destinations off the list, found some really good authentic pizza slices for lunch (potato and rosemary) and pushed on. Ho-hum - another Roman ruin or over-the-top church...
The temperature today was around 28oC and 85% humidity. Sticky fingers, sweaty faces. The heat and humidity finally sapped us around 4pm and with a trip via the supermarket, we headed home. Liz knocked up a top roast veal dinner in an unfamiliar oven with minimal equipment and we crashed...
