(That was a Kiss album, although not one I'm admitting to knowing...)
Aahhh! Brioche for breakfast and cafe au lait s'il vous plait. Motor-cycles buzzing along below your window and people talking real French. Because this is Paris and... Je suis ALIVE! The weather started off cloudy with a chilly wind but warm sunshine dominated the end of the day. Another beginning in a new city, another hop-on hop-off bus day. Like it's predecessors, Paris has a couple of companies running tourist buses. We chose one that offered four loops covering all the main attractions with a 2-day pass. Today we completed three and will work the fourth into our wanderings tomorrow. The photos show our travels and I must admit that by the end of it, I was getting a bit 'monumented-out'. The stations, memorials and main buildings were all starting to look the same!
Biggest surprise of the day? The orderliness of the traffic, particularly around large roundabouts with no line markings and cars turning in all directions. No tooting, no hand gestures. Mind you, who would argue with a double decker bus?.. Biggest curiosity of the day? The rat trap shop (with displays of stuffed and decayed rats in the window.) Next to the patisserie... Good to see Hilary is up to date! Starting to pack myself now. I've heard that it is hot in Bella Italia. When will you get there? rendezvous a cinqueterre?
Enjoy all those patisseries and dont worry about things breaking down in the house- always happens when one is away!!

Wow ok I just read ALL of your entries from start to finish.. didn't realise how many I'd missed out on!! Sounds like you're having a fabulous time.
Tess and Jim (friends from Albury who I met on my America tour) are staying here still.. good house guests! They even cooked me dinner on Monday night! But they have given me a cold... So now all residents in number 11 are i... show all
