(Led Zeppelin)
I think the same kids who spray tags along the Sandringham train line are following us... Graffiti is also endemic in NY, London and now Paris. All looks the same. Interestingly, the ancient wooden doors on the old buildings seem to be universally spared while the walls either side are covered. Today, we indulged Liz with her desire to take a boat trip along the Seine, finding a hop-on hop-off version among the many that ply these waters. The photos speak for themselves as far as destinations visited. I was surprised to still find many barges transporting cargo and not surprised that the gypsies were still hard at it at the tourist haunts. The aggression honed in New York coupled with a very convincing 'non' when asked if I spoke English kept them away from me.
We were delighted to find Notre Dame had free entry after paying about AU$20 at Westminster Abbey. They seemed to be raising their money instead by selling candles at 2 euros each. Many people had lit candles, making for a great shot. The stained glass windows were also stunning. Tomorrow we plan to do the tourist bus as per other cities and then hopfeully venture away from the tourist hype/prices/gypsies/trinket stalls and walk around the streets on our own. I am thoroughly envious. It's good to see you are hav... show all
