I was an hour early for the bus this morning. Just in case the same travellers were there again... AND IT WAS SNOWING! Large, fluffy snowflakes that melted on the road but built up a gentle dusting on the trees and rooftops. Real Christmas card stuff.
As it happened, there were a total of eight of us in a full-sized deluxe coach with another middle-aged, ski-mad Englishman for a driver. We toured the Yoho National Park (white), couldn't see the Spiral Tunnels from the road (closed due to snow), visited Emerald Lake (frozen white) and stopped at Lake Louise ski resort for a hot chocolate (brown and white).
A lunch time check-in at the Lake Louise hotel has left me all afternoon to luxuriate in my room (another king-size bed and working internet connection) before exploring the hotel. Certainly not going outside... The gortex japara I brought as a raincoat would keep my top half dry and warm but I certainly didn't equip myself for walking in a foot of snow!

Yep just poured in Melbourne, well, at least by drought standards...maybe 12mmm...hmmm, none in the catchment apparently.
Went driving with Nick yesterday, Sunday our time. Hilary called asked Nick to come over to a school fete that she and Rohan were going to. Nick couldn't go. With his social commitments, Showtime and work at Ray's, it's booking an audience with the Prime Minister.

Finally worked out how to read your very amusing and clever travel diary - you're quite the travel guru, it's like tuning in to the latest Getaway program!
We have no news as exciting as yours but I can report that we have just had our weekend with Rohan. He arrived after some initial confusion at about 7pm on Saturday. Ollie of course was very pleased to see him and proceeded to show off... show all
