The panoramic views are magnificent.
Our tower ticket also includes a guided tour of the town hall houses, dating back to the mediaeval 1200s with subsequent Gothic layers on top.
Yesterday's exploration was one side of the river, today is the other. Gisela and Walter have seen a piece of art on the Charles Bridge and want to see more of the artist's work at his studio nearby
After a late breakfast, we set out to the west of our apartment with a plan to circumnavigate it anti-clockwise, starting with the art hunt. We succeed, then explore a street market. Lunch is late and local fare for under €10 each. We reach the main shopping boulevard and enjoy watching the crowd watching the fire brigade vacuuming up a wasp nest while perched on top of their vehicle.
Evidence of the prevelance of petty crime is still evident... The door alarms ring at one shop and two security staff swoop to check a shopper's bag. In Melbourne, she would have been waved through! We slowly drift home and find pancakes for a late dinner. That goulash and dumpling lunch is still sitting heavy in the tummy though.
A quiet day out and a quiet night in before tomorrow morning's next train...
