Anyways the day we arrived it was only really working from the closest point as the swell was pretty small but the rides were still a couple of hundred meters long. There was already a heap of crew in the lineup but I couldn't wait to get out there. By the time we had walked 20 minutes out to the point and paddled out there was a local fishing boat which had been hired by a bunch of Brazilians cruising up and down the lineup so they didn't have to paddle.
The shape of the line up causes a large tow which will drag you from the point to the hostel quicker than you could walk the distance
Even though the Brazilians in the boat took a lot of the waves I still managed to get some really nice long waves and was stoked to be surfing a wave desired by surfers all over the world.
The El Hombre hostel was basic but comfy and friendly. We woke the next morning to find a very small lineup so decided it best to move on again. Some friends we had made told us about a good hostel up in Pacasmayo only about 2 hours north. So we packed up said our good byes and jumped on the local bus.
