Well where do I start. The week leading up to departure was nuts to say the least. I dont think I had time to breath. The farewells started on the Friday with work. We had a huge feast at a Italian restaurant then a few too many beers at the Belgium Beer Cafe. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it a really top night. Thanks to Marty for providing the entertainment on the car ride home. I also heard the gardeners for Nothbourne were impressed with the free fertilizer.
Saturday started with a BBQ at Jonno´s place with the gang to celebrate Jonno´s birthday and the 3 amigos departing the country. I thought I would be nice and take charge of the BBQ and managed to turn nearly everything into charcoal lumps. Good for cleansing or so I hear.
We then headed to Trinity bar in Dickson for a few quiet beverages that got messy very quickly. The bar is usually a fairly classy place but we managed to lower the image of the place within 10 steps of the front door. Danks and the boys proceeded to sink Yoga bombs at $12 a piece which I assume lead to Andrews top idea of exposing himself to the whole Dickson community. I thought this was going to be the low point of the night when somebody (no names) decided being the 10 year old children we are that Nick should be dacked standing at the bar. Pants and undies were at ankles before Sam (Nicks girlfriend) could protect him. Nick proceeded to take the lot off and strut his stuff to the bar staffs disgust. Boys will be boys. Once again thanks goes to Adam for fertilizing the Trinity gardens.
On Sunday one of my good mates Tim Tunks was married to Sarah Jones on the lawns of the yatchet club. It was a perfect afternoon for them and they looked a million dollars. I´m glad I was able to make it for such a special day. Good luck guys.
Anyway the rest of the week I spent running around non-stop organising all the things I should have done about 3 months earlier. As expected I was up until 12 o'clock the night before departure trying to squeeze my life into 70 litres of backpack. I ended up with 19kg of unnecessary luggage the heaviest out of the 3. So all packed and extremely exhausted I headed to Canberra airport.
