Another long day, but in the fun way. We arose and got some breakfast at the Waffle House next door. I miss having the Waffle House around where I live. Anyway, I digress. Really having no where else to go we headed to Turner Field. Game time was 1:30 and we got there at 11:30. It allowed for plenty of time to soak in the sights. We went to buy our tickets and found out it was Bark in the Park day. People were allowed to bring their dogs to the park. Now San Diego does something similar but they do it the right way. In San Diego they have the dogs in the outfield able to run around a little bit and if there are any "accidents" it is in sand (if I remember correctly). At Turner Field the dogs and owners are sent to the the highest section of the park in just the standard seats anyone else would be in. God forbid anything happens up there. Anyway, I asked the ticket agent for two of their cheapest tickets. She sold me two, one-dollar tickets! Our cheapest tickets by far, and the seats were in the same nose bleed sections of the previous two games.

So after catching some batting practice in the outfield we headed to our seats for the first half of the game (since a bribe attempt to an usher failed). Again, as previously on this trip, we took initiative and found better seats throughout the game. The game itself was pretty one sided with Braves thoroughly controlling the Oakland A's, with a final score of 5-2. I only really have two notes on this game. One, we got to see former White Sox first baseman Frank Thomas. He struck out in his only pinch hitting attempt. And we got to see the major league debut of Gregorio Petit for the A's. Is he anybody? Only time will tell, but he did go 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. And one very embarrassing play where he was picked off first.

After the game Erik dropped me off at the airport and I flew to LA while he drove to Tallahassee. Flying with a cold is fun!
