today started abruptly when brittney woke me up and said to me "i need to go home"
the morning meant booking a flight and figuring out how we could do this

i sent her off this evening which was very hard
i don't want to continue the trip without her
today makes it our one month anniversary of the roadtrip
it's crazy
we've barely done anything but we've done so much

this afternoon was a blast
i got to meet Brittney's friend she made in Australia on her time abroad
her name is Al and i got to see her big beautiful home, meet her little bro and her parents
we were planning on staying with them on wednesday night but with Brittney gone I will continue to stay with my best friend Kat in Cambridge
It was wonderful to finally meet people with hard eastern accents

i loved listening to Al speak.....especially her dad too!
it's awesome
Al took us to grab food at a delicatessen: D'agostino's deli in arlington
then we went and had a our lunch in Lexington....Lexington Battle Green right by the Minuteman Statue

Lexington Battle Green
It was here, on the morning of April 19, 1775, that "the first blood was spilt in the dispute with Great Britain," as George Washington wrote in his diary. In this first skirmish, 77 Minutemen (local colonists who had volunteered to be first responders to military and other threats) faced British Regulars. Eight Minutemen lost their lives and 10 were wounded. Two British soldiers were also injured. After the battle, Samuel Adams exclaimed to John Hancock, "What a glorious morning for America!"

people were just hanging out in the green space
it was beautiful out
just enough to wear a sweatshirt but still keep the flipflops on

i even survived my first blackout on this trip.  they fix the problem really fast.  way to go boston.

hopefully upon Brittney's return we will pick up where we left off and stay with Al for a bit and then continue to Maine where we will camp for a few days

for now.....i look forward to meeting up with my parents on Thursday and starting to get ready for the family wedding on Saturday
tomorrow I'm going to just bike around boston and see the area

my thoughts are focused on the recovery of Brittney's brother
please send good vibes her family's way
