So, three flights and a good 30 hours after leaving, I've arrived!
Currently staying in a big house basically like a travellers lodge, used by volunteers for NFO who go and help teach and generally help out in local schools and orphanage. Arrived last night just in time for dinner (which is always a bonus) and got to meet everyone here. All seem really nice and a good laugh.
The journey from the airport to the place I'm staying was ridiculus tho, there dont seem to be many rules on how to drive, just beep the horn every 5 seconds so that the 5 people on a single motorbike or herd of cows that have decided to cross the road know your coming and keep your eyes open for the hundreds of people bikes without any lights or anything at night, quite an experience..
Where I'm currently staying is the base for people doing the sort of teaching stuff only tho..so I may be moving to Phnom Penh and from what it osunds like, living on my own out there to then go into the hospital and do the things I was expecting to do, not certain yet tho and would be a shame having just got to know everyone here..
Went to visit the orphanage this morning and it was a really nice setup for the kids, there were a couple of classrooms where volunteers come and teach them, they've got a litle workshop where the boys learn how to make chairs and tables and stuff for the classrooms for when they need them. Also got a little farm area with chickens and a couple goats and a pig, hopefuly i get the chance to go back and see the kids again, and also get some pics as I completely forgot my camera :(
Anyway nut much else to say, as havent even been here 24 hours yet!
Will keep you all updated,
