So Texas has the worst roads so
far trekking east to west I'd have to say I prefer Louisiana Bayou Road
at ngiht to East Texas pine country road in the day! It is as if the
engineers herde simply mixed pots of gravfel with tar and slung thing
with reckless abandon on a sandy base. I feel like i've driven on a
cobblestone beach for about 30 miles. All becase better though within a
few miles of Jasper, and Texas DOES seem to appreciate a sizeable road
shoulder. I have to think that the border is simply ignored whereas the
TEXAN body roads are well cared for. Jasper has a nice econo motel
nextdoor to a Walmart. I drank a quart of half and half( a trick
learned in Japan) and a half gallon of pulpy OJ in order to maximize my
sustenance intake. I am dosing on cold and flu medicine regularly at
this point in tea form and pill form to ward off, worse than I already
have, sickness. Caught up on the news and showered night and morning in
Jasper. The motel was $50 flat, and humble. Woke up at 7AM again, and
was out before 9 after quick continental breakfast of cold cereal and
coffee. I should add that I wasted most of a pound of popcorn shrimp
purchased, because its alot more than it sound slike and fried. The
pound of cheese I am takin with me, thank god for fridge like outdoor
temps to keep food from spoiling! carry on!
