Dinner with the Colleagues
Mar 31, 2008
I took the train to Manhattan to meet up with B's colleagues from work for dinner in the East Village. The neighborhood is known as the birthplace and historical home of many artistic movements, including punk rock and the Nuyorican literary movement. We had dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Ippudo NY. They do not take bookings at this restaurant, its first come first serve, so when we got there we put our names on the waiting list and it was close to a 2 hour waiting time. I couldn't believe how busy this place was. Apparently this place has authentic Japanese food. Ramen is the most popular dish in Japan. I had the "Shiromaru Moto Aji", I think. Its noodles in a broth topped with roast pork slices and spring onions. It was delicious and very tasty.... yum. We had a good time. Pity B missed out. Yippee, he is on his way back !
