Arrived in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia about mid day and was going to take the next train to the south of Croatia, along the Adriatic sea to a town called Split, although before my train to leave to Split, I stepped outside of the station to get a grasp of fresh air before I beeline it to the coast and was overwhelmed by the sight in front of me - no, not the beer dome that was directly in front of me but the 70 degree weather and the gorgeous architecture all around. The next thing I did was rented a locker for the day inside the train station and headed out into the city to roam, I figured I will just catch a night train to Split, so this way I can also save on the cost of Accommodation. During my walk I found beautiful Cathedrals, alleys, parks and houses surrounding me. I stopped in a local market to pick up a bottle of beer to enjoy on this beautiful day. The beer I purchased was equivalent to 65 cents. At first I had trouble understanding why she was charging me more then the asking price and then realized that you needed to give a bottle to get a bottle. The price is for only the liquid - this is their proactive way of recycling and a wonderful young lady behind me gestured with a sweet old smile to not worry about it because she has a bottle to spot me
I carried my beer to the top of a nearby hill with houses on it to a remote lookout area that overlooked the entirety of the old town and the marvelous roof tops - the light Croatian beer tasted 10 better with this view. I walked around for several more hours in search for hidden beauties and walkways within the city - I found many until the sun went down.
At night, before my midnight train I walked around trying to find an internet café to catch up on some much needed blogging. I found one that lead me through a maze of a building through the basement, just following signs on the walls that said internet. Once I reached a set of doors I walked through it to find a vacant LAN center. A LAN center is a place of many computers linked to one another and the internet to facilitate a community of video gamers to battle each other while in the same vicinity of one another. I asked if I could just use the internet for several of hours until closing time. As I sat down beside a computer the host (who just plays video games all day anyway) asked if I would like to play some games. I said sure if it is not going to cost me anything, he said, "There is no body here besides me to ever know if you paid or not, so why not and enjoy yourself - welcome to Croatia!" After some gaming, the whole place filled up with fellow games and we all broke out in some made video game action against each other for the duration of the night, it was like being in high school all over again, the gaming was a blast on a trip with no television exposure!
