The Unscheduled Stop

An unscheduled stop as we were hoping to hop straight on a bus to Puerto Madryn but no first class available and it´s a long one so need to be able to sleep on those fully reclining seats we loved so much before.

We thought Villa Gesell was a bit like Littlehampton, this place is more like Brighton or even Blackpool. It´s really windy, has a seriously choppy sea which is quite shallow and freezing cold and there´s even a faint smell of candyfloss in the air. Very busy and full of Argentinians again but still quite nice and the sun is shining. Already had two locals offer to help when we have had language difficulties so are really impressed at how nice everybody is. Staying in a very nice golfing hotel for the night so will catch up on some sleep. The temperature has been far more bearable since leaving Puerto Iguassu, tends to be about 25 degrees and quite cool in the evenings. This is the life...

Ta daaaaa!

Although Mar Del Plata is very busy and commercial we´ve still had a good time on our unscheduled stop here - it´s very lively and the sun is shining. Started with a great breakfast at the Club Del Golf followed by a stroll along the sea front and clambering among the rocks. Lots going on, must be a football match on today as lots of chanting men in football strips with flags. Was some kind of a marathon going on as well this morning, crazy Argentinians! Is very windy so have burnt noses again and there are some awesome waves here so have been watching the surfers.

Bus leaves tonight for cooler waters... gonna get more blowy too! Going to a resort that could be our first dive experience with sea lions, penguins and dolphins (wish me luck Dev chap).
