Day 112 - flying to Vegas
Jun 14, 2013
. The flight from Mexico City to Orange County was very boring and took a few hours, they had nothing to watch in fact I'd say AirTran is the worst airline other than Tiger in Hobart. Once we got to Orange County we had to go through customs which wasn't too bad, then get our bags and and check them into the next flight, then go through security and wait for a couple hours until our Vegas flight. We were still very hungover and tired but getting closer was making us feel better. Before boarding the plane we ate some food and then boarded for Vegas. On board this flight was a very entertaining air hostess who played a dollar bill game and sang into the intercom and was actually really funny and entertaining, the dollar bill game is where you right your seat number on a dollar put it into a bag and if your seat is drawn you win if all, the lady who won it was her birthday. Flying into Vegas at night was awesome, as you fly right over the strip and the lights look insane. Once we got on the ground we got our bags and headed for a taxi. Our taxi driver was shit and had no idea where to go, I even had to talk on his phone to ask for direction, how hard is it to follow and address? Anyway we eventually found the Crossland Economy studios in the outer suburbs where we would spend our first 2 nights in Vegas, as it's the weekend and everything on the strip is really expensive. Our room was pretty good it was a little apartment with king bed, fridge, microwave and couch with a tv. Watching English television was great after so long of struggling to get English shows in Mexico and Peru. We didn't stay up long and went to bed after watching a movie for a good nights sleep.
There is one thing you should always do before a big day of traveling through airports and flying and that's have a good nights sleep and don't get drunk. Unfortunately we always seem to be hungover and tired and today was no exception. We got up at 10am after very little sleep and got into a taxi bound for the airport. The first issue we had other than feeling like crap was we didn't know which terminal to go to and ended up at the wrong one, then had to catch a monorail to the right one, then navigate our way through the massive airport to the check in which was difficult, then wait forever in a line to check in and then the check in process was way to long as well, we were both already annoyed and crabby and then having to pay $50 to check our bags in made it worse. Then we got some food and had trouble finding a place to sit, then we had to go through security where Bobbie got a full bag inspection, we finally made it to our gate very tired and over airports already. We had a stopover for a few hours in Orange County before flying to Las Vegas
