Day 108 - Lima to Mexico City
Jun 14, 2013
Getting up at 5am is always terrible, I could have slept for a lot longer. But we dragged our asses out of bed and got downstairs and into our pre ordered taxi by 5.30. We got to the airport by 6am and checked in to our flight to Mexico City at 9am. After checking in we got breakfast in the food court then made our way to the gate. Getting through security was pretty painless and soon enough we were waiting at our gate. The flight back to Mexico City was 6 hours, during which we both watched two movies, I got to see The Man of Steel and Gangster squad, while Bobbie watched 42, which was about racism in baseball from the 40s and another movie with Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gossling. The flight went fairly quickly and in reasonable comfort. We arrived in Mexico City at 3pm, we got through immigration, got our luggage and through customs and by 4pm we were in a taxi heading back to the hotel we spent nearly a month in when we first were in Mexico City, the Diligencias. It took about half an hour to get to the hotel, we were both fairly tired. We checked in and got our room on the top floor, the elevator was not working which sucked but the nice little bell man carried my heavy bag up the 6 flights of stairs. At check in an American guy and his Ecuadorian girlfriend introduced themselves, they were trying to find other English speaking tourists, they asked if we have nothing else to do they would like to hang out, I said we needed some rest but if we see them around we will take them to some places or at least give some advise. We got to our room and got settled in, we hung out for a while got a bit of rest. We headed back out at dinner time but only went downstairs to the restaurant at the hotel. After dinner we rested and got a good nights sleep, we also took a lot of time to start organizing the USA part of our trip, hotels in Vegas and things to do.
