Like a Phoenix from the ashes, Sheila is back on the road! We are currently in Exmouth getting the final repairs completed before heading inland to Karijini National Park. The last three days have been spent snorkeling along varies points of the Ningaloo Reef, within the Cape Range National Park. The reef here is quite spectacular: I have swam with a turtle, octopus, 1 metre long parrot fish, squid and loads of large trigger fish (which were surprisingly harmless). Yesterday I got really close to a stingray that must have measured almost 2 metres in length! The hard coral here is not as colourful as the soft coral of the Great Barrier Reef but the marine life does not disappoint. And it's very accessible, just a few metres from the beach.

As a town Exmouth does not have much to offer (it's a lengthy drive from the beach), so I'd recommend Coral Bay instead. But to see more of the reef a trip into the Cape Range National Park (via Exmouth) is a must. Remember to stock up on food and fuel before you get to Coral Bay; it's marginally cheaper here in Exmouth but not by a great deal. Our campsite fees worked out to about $8 each but the Artesian Bore water they use in the showers and sinks leaves a very funny taste in your mouth. At least there is drinking water available.

At our last campsite we met up with another car (3 guys from Perth) so now there are even more travelling in our very informal convoy; 19 people in total!
