"When In Rome, Do As The Romans Do" or so the saying goes. So when in Boston, do as the students do and take some classes!

Today I attended a Constitutional Law (1 hour) and Theology class (1.5 hours). Both were taught in very different styles and by very different lecturers (or professors as they are referred to here). I particularly enjoyed the Theology class (on Sufism) as Mason (the prof) was so knowledgeable and engaging. He did not use any notes but was able to wax lyrical on all aspects of the topic and keep all the students attention. Some of the students have told me that certain professors at BU are so good that students sometime attend their classes even though they are not enrolled on that course.

BU is famous for the Theology School, it is one of the first colleges set up here. Perhaps their most famous Theology student was Dr Martin L King Jr, this is where he obtained his doctorate. There are many colleges and schools on campus now, and they are sometimes referred to by students in less than flattering terms.

My favourites are:
CGS - College of General Studies (Crayons, Glue & Scissors)
SMG - School of Management (Sex, Money & Greed)
COM - College of Communications (College of Optional Math)
