We left Hyder early this morning and spent the day on the Cassiar Highway which runs South – North through British Columbia. Pete led the way on a road that had some great mountain top vista views and wonderful lake side rides.  The Cassiar is 360 miles and we probably saw less than 40 cars the whole day.  It's like we had the road to ourselves.  Besides the cars, we saw 2 black bears,  and a dall-sheep.  We haven’t seen any moose yet but there’s still a lot of time go.

The weather has been absolutely perfect—clear skies; cool mornings; mid-70’s throughout the day; no rain yet.

We pulled into the Northern Beaver Post for the night and Pete and I set up camp while Alan and Terry checked into their danty sleeping cabin.  I’ll leave the rest of the story for them to explain later.

Early in the planning of this trip I had determined that if Terry, for some reason, could not make this one, I would come by myself.  Today, I realized that would not have been a smart move.  This place is so huge, it would be like swimming in the ocean by yourself.  This is an experience that needs to be shared for sure.

Here are some pictures of the day:
