Where I stayed
So, out of Chile into Argentina. We once more trekked over and thru the Andes, into wine country in Argentina. The pass was outstanding, just incredible how they built that highway! Gradually the countryside became more lush, I guess it must, to support the thousands of acres of grapevines that we saw. Incidentally, someone told me there are over 800 wineries in Mendoza! Oh well, certainly enough for me! The problem is....TOO many bottles to choose from!
Our cabbie FINALLY found the hostel, and we didn't have enough to pay him, so he took what I had. The place is a really great hostel, and we had a good time here. We saw parades on two different evenings (nights, really), and then the grand finale at the ampitheatre. So between the cooking, the wine, the parades, etc, we were well entertained.
In Mendoza, Debbie and I parted company; she was on her way to Iquazu Falls, and since I had been there, I had my last destination that I wanted to hit this trip: the town of Ushusia, the bottom of S.A. Debbie and I are planning on hooking back up again in BsAs about the 12 of April.
