Post-thanksgiving update

Hello everyone and thanks for all the emails this week updating us on the holiday happenings.
Well we were very thankfull this past week because we were able to have a wonderful thanksgiving at our country director's (CD) house. Everyone in training came and ate turkey, stuffing, candied yams, mashed potatoes, green beans, and some how lots and lots of corn pudding!!!! A group of trainies showed up early and made deserts which included apple crisp, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheese cake, and tiramisu. Everything was excellent and we stuffed ourselves rotten. We also really enjoyed just visiting and playing board games with everyone. Towards the end our CD had her salsa instructor come by and anyone who wanted took a turn and it was lots of fun. She told me that salsa is really big in benin and everyone knows how to dance to it here.
It was also really nice just having a day off to sit around and relax. It has seemed like we've been going non-stop for the past few weeks so this break we really appreciated. The following day was pretty slack too and then yesterday we had a french speaking game for just a couple of hours and then we went home and read books in the shade. This morning we got up early and put on our best Beninois dress and went to church with Jason's Segbohue family. Everybody loves Rebecca's dress (blue oriental patterned fabric with white lace) and Jason's new outfit (giraffe print that was made into a nice pair of pants and the matching dress shirt). This afternoon we pretty much did lots and lots of laundry, but no new philisophical insights this time.
The coming week were going to be doing lots of technical sessions so we'll learn lots of new and interesting things and then we'll fill you in next week.
Some people have asked if we are getting a new addess after training. We are but we'll put it in the next update. Any mail sent to the old address in Cotonou will still get to us so don't let that stop you from sending lots and lots of mail.
That's all for now. Hope to talk to you again soon,
Love,
Rebecca and Jason
