Hey there every body!!!

We are here in an internet café. which has the funkiest keyboards because they are French and have all these weird characters (like § and ç) that are in the place where the "a" would typically be found so this should be interesting so please excuse any typos.

So Rebecca and I are still doing well and are getting ready to start living with our host family in Comé. Comé is going to be where we will be trained for the next 10 weeks. Jason zill actually be commuting back and forth to another smaller village for most of his environmental training.

Last Sunday all of us went to the beach here in Cotonou. It was really nice and the water is really really beautiful. The water was so blue and the sand was really soft and the best part of it was that there was almost no development to be seen. The only thing lining the beach were some shelters made of bamboo and braided palm leaves, which were really nice when you wanted to get out of the sun. Some of us played soccer & volleyball which was lots of fun. So as you can see we've been really ruffing it for the past couple of days. Everyone thinks they are doing a really good job at easing us into the culture so the "culture shock" isn't as bad. So far we haven't had that much contact with the locals but that will definqtely change starting Thursday when we move to Comé.

Today we met with the US ambassador, and he filled us in on the relations between the US and Beninese. It was pretty nice and tonight we're going to another BBQ.

Well our hour is up so we'd better go

Lots of Love,

Jason & Rebecca
