German Phrase of the Day: Wir sind verloren! Können Sie helfen? ... Translation, "We are lost! Can you help?" (Translation provided bz freetranslation.com)
So we get to Innsbruck on our first train ride... definitely a great way to travel... the lady at the information center sent us across town on the outskirts to the International Youth Hostel... Caryn, suddenly choosing to be picky, decides to find another place in the center of town. Begin the 1 mile trek to the center of town and our 1 hour journey of confusion. It's difficult enough when you don't speak the language, but add to that having no clue where you've been dropped off... We finally got to another information center and they called the hotel we we're looking for (Gasthof Innbrüke) and booked the room.
When we arrived, the innkeeper informed us that there had been a mistake and the double room that was booked wasn't actually available. We settled for a cheaper single and managed with a twin sized bed..
Innsbruck is a beautiful little ski base at the bottom of the Austrian Alps. There is a lively center market/tourist area and good food!
Today was Sunday, we actually stopped at a church for a few minutes, but not speaking German and not being Catholic, we deciced to only stay for a couple songs and quietly slipped out.
This afternoon we arrived in Vienna and will begin exploring tomorrow.

. Caryn didn't sleep much! The hotel was great despite the tight quarters. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to visit!Innsbruck is a beautiful little ski base at the bottom of the Austrian Alps. There is a lively center market/tourist area and good food!
