We started our day today by taking the wrong bus, but ended up in an area north of London that we've always been interested in. We went with it. We found ourselves in Highgate, home of the famous Highgate Cemetery, the burial place of many historical figures (like Karl Marx). We opted to pass on the tour, as there was a wait and a hefty admission. Though it may have been worth it, we wanted to continue with our exploration. We wandered over to the neighboring village of Hampstead, a posh community home to many celebrities and the amazing Hampstead Heath Park, former hunting grounds of kings. We entered the park on the north side where we stopped for coffee and rest at the Kenwood House walked through the park and ended with panoramic views of the city from Parliament Hill. The weather was gorgeous, sunny and crisp, and many were out making the most of it. There were people flying kites, walking their dogs, and children rolling down the grassy hills...it was wonderful.
We walked more today than any other day so far (we estimate 10 miles or more), but worth every step. Now we'll let the pictures tell the story...
*We 've now added the rest of the pics. 2/21/08

I'm envious!!!
That's what I call 'eye candy'. The architecture is unbelievable.I hope you end up with some good black and whites that can be framed. Did superman take the day off to rest? I applied to TC Thompson yesterday. We are in the middle of an eclipse of the moon. My ADD is showing...jumping all over the place with my conversation. Sorry. Hayden and I will be reviewing your travelpod Thurs and Fri. He is staying up here those 2 nights. Oh yeah, Joe said wouldn't you be surprised if we showed up on your doorstep in the UK. I found roundtrip tiks for $325 per person. When and if we sell the place on the lake we will be going SOMEWHERE with part of the money. Be Safe. Love you, bye.
