Today we arrived in Auckland, New Zealand. After settling in where we are staying for the next few nights, we went for a walk around the city. So far, Auckland feels a lot like Toronto; especially when we were walking down Queen St. and passing Wellesley. We were tired, but didn't want to experience jet lag so we took a short nap and then headed back out onto the streets. We found a cool pub for dinner that had the largest list of beers I've ever seen.

After dinner we took off for another walk. I noticed a little girl wearing a Taylor Swift badge around her neck, which reminded me that I had already seen two people wearing Taylor Swift t-shirts earlier today. This is the conversation that followed:
Garyn: I wonder if there's a Taylor Swift concert tonight. I saw 2 people wearing Taylor shirts and   I think that little girl had a Taylor badge around her neck.
Jason: I don't know. Maybe.
Garyn: Want to go if there are still tickets and they aren't too crazy?
Jason AS HE HANDS GARYN TICKETS: Sure. Want to go?

Apparently he's been planning this for a couple months. It's a difficult task to buy tickets to a sold out show in a foreign country on the other side of the world. But Jason is always great with surprises and he pulled off another one tonight! I'm happy I set him up well to show me the tickets. I let him feel smooth!

It was our first time seeing Taylor Swift perform. Both of us are huge country music fans and although her show was definitely not a country show, she puts on a great performance!  It is obvious that a lot of money is put into her tour with fancy moving stages, many dancers, pyros, and confetti, it was a lot of fun.

A great way to start our time in New Zealand!

It's great to hear how you both share your love for each other with surprises and genuine enjoyment of what they mean to you.

Thanks, Francesco! Jason is really great with surprises. This is not the first time he's done something like this for me. A couple years ago, he surprised me by taking me sky diving in Vegas!
