Our stay in Moncton was short, but the Econo-Lodge (is there a downgrade to the chain? If not, there should be) made it feel longer. Perhaps we had been spoiled from Riviere-du-loup. For dinner the first night we went to the Creek Seafood restaurant , which was heavily advertised. The place was alright, but the food was quite good. At first we thought that it was expensive, but we quickly realized that this was a taste of the prices to come during our trip. If you are planning a trip to the East Coast, we recommend finding accommodations with a kitchenette. You will save a lot of money - eating out is expensive!!

While in New Brunswick we spent some time to go and see the Hopewell Rocks to experience the highest tides in the world. I guess there isn't much you can do there to avoid the crowds. The flowerpots were interesting to see. We had a good time, but it was this weird cloudy-bright kind of weather. It was near impossible to get a half-decent picture. The park itself was very clean and well organized. My regret is that we wanted to do some kayaking there, but we arrived at the wrong time to do it. I would have preferred the kayaking to walking the ocean floor with a lot of other people. Mind you, Lil did find a pretty cool fossil there (and without her glasses too!!!).

The second night we stopped by a nice little tobacco store that sold bongs of every size, shape, and colour that you could imagine. There's nothing like suckin' weed through the head of Krusty the Clown?!?!?!?! Now, we did add to our quickly depleting stock of mini did the fifteen year old in front of us, who swore that he was nineteen but forgot his ID :). We found a pretty cool Irish bar called the St-James' Gate. It was very well decorated, had old books on every table and a pretty good beer selection. All-in-all, a good place to stop.
