Cambodia is, as they say, 'same, same, but different from Vietnam. It is a poor country, more so than Vietnam. There is not an awareness of keeping one's surroundings clean. Tons of garbage everywhere. The little girl next door to our guest house walked over to the front yard of our place to squat and pee. At least she knew not to do it in her own yard...

Angkor Wat is the attraction that most visitors come to Siem Reap for and we were not disappointed. We spent the day looking around, a rather quick sweep of the place, but it was all the kids wanted to undertake. The age of the artifacts, the detail to which the artisans went, and the destruction that nature has inflicted are truly awe inspiring. It is a place that can be soaked up at leisure, if one is willing to invest the time.
